Wallflower

The seeds have been planted, and soon there will be a garden of music in full bloom! You can follow its growth by signing up for my newsletter at the bottom of the page, and pre-saving the upcoming album that is supporting community gardens in Barrie, Ontario through Urban Pantry and Moondance Organic Farm. In doing so you will receive a free pack of seeds, that will hopefully encourage you to disconnect for a little bit, get outside, and reconnect with nature 🙂

Many of the ideas, melodies, and lyrics for my songs in Wallflower were thought of years ago while I was working in a local greenhouse. And I am so excited that it is finally coming to life! As each song is released onto Spotify, and all music sharing platforms it will virtually bloom into a Canadian provincial flower online. 10 original songs for 10 provinces, in the hopes of one day being able to experience playing gigs all over Canada. 🍁 🍁

Music makes you present. And as everyday is filled with constant distractions at every corner it is extremely hard to become fully present to really anything. I find my solace and peace of mind in music and nature. For a brief moment in time while I am singing or listening to a song or going for a walk in the forest or through a garden; all of my anxieties, comparisons, deadlines and worries seem to just dissipate. Life becomes simple; as you start to only pay attention to the sounds and vibrations of a song, or the sight and scent of your beautiful surroundings. Your mind is your own, and you aren’t overwhelmed by one thousand whirling thoughts and worries.

I hope you enjoy my music. But even more so – I hope that it inspires you to create your own, or encourages you to go outside to get lost in the awe of creation and forget about your troubles for a little bit.

“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.” – Alexander Den Heije
